A mysterious object was sighted in the western sky over Wichita Falls this evening. I used a telescope and digital camera to capture these images. It appears to have been a weather balloon!

An object just passed over Bryan/College Station at 1:30pm today, 28 Sept. It was dark in color and looked like an oblong umbrella or a large piece of fabric with corners pointing down.Passed slowly from north to south, then rose out of sight.

While the sun was still visable it was a bright white light. At first I thought it might be mars, especially when it turned red. But then it was gone. http://towerfts.csbf.nasa.gov/GoogleMaps/ConvGps.htm this is a GPS web site for the balloon

It's a weather balloon. You can tell in the first picture when it's enlarged.

We saw this object and if you really think it was a weather ballon then you need a serious wakeup call. That is the same tired explanation that has been used ever since weather ballons have been used for weather data gathering. UFO.!
