Boy Sets New Powerlifting World Record!

Scott Dobbins,15, a freshman at Burkburnett High School shattered the world record in Powerlifting Saturday in Baton Rouge Louisisanna. Dobbins, who has only been training for 1 year out performed all others in his weight class (242 class) and age (15) to set 3 new world records! Dobbins bench pressed 363 pounds, Deadlifted 462 lbs and squatted an amazing 705 lbs. (The current record for squat was 550 lbs set by a boy in Europe in 1988.
Dobbins is the son of Major Bruce and Dixie Dobbins of Wichita Falls. Dobbins is an honor roll student at Burkburnett High School and will play Varsity for the BHS football team this fall. He plans on attending Texas A&M University after graduation.
