More than 760,000 Texas students participated in high school athletics last year, which is more than any other state. In addition to these large numbers, the economy has made the search for scholarships more competitive than ever.

Many athletes depend on their coaching staff to mail countless game films. Some even hire recruiting agencies, but this can be very time-consuming and expensive.

A Dallas-based company has launched a new website making the process a little easier. MYVIDEOCHAMP.com is a website that allows athletes to send full-length games or edited footage directly to coaches via e-mail. In addition to the footage, coaches automatically receive the athlete's personalized athletic profile with their statistics and accomplishments along with educational information.

It was launched about three months ago and already has hundreds of members. Right now, 16 different sports are offered. While the website is geared toward high school and junior college students, the company does have some professional athletes as well. The unique tracking feature alerts users with time and date notificatons each time a coach receives, opens, or views their footage.

Roland Williams, C.E.O. of myvideochamp.com, said, "So now they know at least they got their shot. At least the coach viewed their game and they're not just sending games and wondering if they viewed or saved."

The website is designed to make the process as convenient as possible, which is why it also offers a nationwide e-mail directory for all college coaches. However,  myvideochamp.com is not a recruiting service or a sports social networking site.

Video champ is a membership service. While there are several options, athletes can upload up to two full game films for less than $20. You can find the full list of pricing details on the video champ website. We've provided a link on our website at KAUZ.com, along with information about a video champ representative to speak to your school's athletic booster club..
