We kick off our Friday Football Frenzy preview in Iowa Park. Hawks head football coach Chris Ellis team is in a youth movement! The Hawks return 4 starters from a team that finished 4-6. One of those starters is junior running back Richard Smoak! Smoak ran for 610 yards, 6 touchdowns and had 27 tackles on defense. Of course the goal for the Hawks is to compete for the district title and get back to the playoffs.

"Last year we quite didn't get it done. We lost a lot of close district games and our secret to success in Iowa Park is to win those close games. Because we play in a lot of them. And when we get that done, we are a pretty successful team," says Ellis.

"We got a lot of young people on our team. I think we will have a lot of people competing. It will be a lot more intense than in the past few years," says Smoak.

Iowa Park opens up the season August 29th at Argyle
