The Wichita Falls Kings Semi-Professional Football Team (formerly known as Wichita Falls Razorbacks) wants to introduce themselves to the community and show their support by helping fill the "empty shelves" of the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank. Mr. Pat Maxwell, Owner/General Manager/Coach says, "We heard the Food Bank was struggling to keep enough food in their warehouse to feed the hungry people in North Texas and my team wants to help by playing a football game to benefit them." Kick-off will be 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, July 12th. The Wichita Falls Kings will be playing against the East Texas Outlaws from Longview, Texas. Suggested Donated Admission is $1 per person or 4 cans of non-perishable food per person. Monetary Donations will benefit the Food Bank’s two Childhood Hunger Programs, - Kids Cafe and PowerPak 4 Kids Backpack Weekend Food Program. The food items will be distributed to the Food Bank’s 110+ partner agencies that either prepare meals and/or distribute supplement food boxes to their hungry clients. Mr. Maxwell states, "The goal of the Wichita Falls Kings is to be a contributor in the community that we play and work within. We are here to provide the people in our community the highest quality of family-oriented entertainment possible at an affordable price. It is also our intention to operate as closely to the standards of major-league sports as possible while still maintaining the service levels of a hometown franchise. This specifically means treating each and every guest (ticket holder) and partner (corporate sponsor) with the very best in service at all times. Finally we are here to promote promising athletes to play at the highest level football possible.
