Odessa Marlene Harlow

Odessa Marlene Harlow, 83, of Wichita Falls, died Friday, October 30, 2009 in Wichita Falls.  Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Hampton Vaughan Chapel officiated by Reverend Joshua Deerinwater and Reverend Darrell Brown.  Interment will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue, TX.

Marlene was born January 6, 1926 in Mineral Wells, TX to Thomas Daniel and Ethel Paulene (Jones) Shotts.  She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 12 and was baptized into the Baptist Faith.  She served as the Woman’s Missionary Union President, Sunday School Teacher, Girls’ Auxiliary Leader, as well as serving at several Vacation Bible Schools.  She was an accomplished china painter, a member and exhibit chairman in East Texas Porcelain Art Guild.  

Mrs. Harlow is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ray Harlow in 1998, and sister, Patsy Hines.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Ray and Cathy Raye Harlow of Pflugerville, TX, Ronnie Lynn Harlow of Joy, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Billie Shotts of Garland, TX; grandchildren, Thomyson, Colin, Evan, Erin, Ian; and eight great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2009 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. 

If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
