Marilyn Ruth Cox Marilyn Ruth Cox of Wichita Falls passed away in Seguin, Texas on Tuesday, October 6 at the age of 87. Marilyn Ruth Butler was born October 12, 1921 in Kansas City, Kansas and was married to George B. Cox in 1946. They moved to Wichita Falls in 1946. Marilyn was a member of Floral Heights United Methodist Church since 1946 and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was active in United Methodist Women and the Wichita Falls Museum and Art Center. She was preceded in death by her husband George B. Cox and an infant daughter Mary Lee. She is survived by her son Travis B. Cox and wife Susan of Seguin, Tx; a daughter Jan Cox of Bastrop, Tx; grandchildren Loren Girardot and husband Dave of Corpus Christi, Tx, Tracy Cox of College Station, Tx and Heather Cox of College Station, Tx; great grandson Colin Matthew Girardot of Corpus Christi, Tx; nieces Mary Sue Thomas and Anne Shadburn; nephews Alex Frye and Harold Frye. The funeral for Marilyn Cox will be held at the Chapel of Floral Heights United Methodist Church at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 10. Visitation will be at 10:00 am at the church.
