Senate Warning for "Cyber Monday" Shopping

Tools

Next Monday is the biggest holiday rush on the internet. It's known as 'Cyber Monday,' and the U.S. Senate is trying to make those shoppers a little more aware.

The Commerce Committee said you need to be aware of three online companies: Affinion, Vertrue and Web-Loyalty. They say the companies are scamming millions of customers by tricking them into signing up for subscription services they don't want through agreements with other familiar internet shopping sites.

By clicking "continue" or "yes" on offers of cash back and other rewards, it commits shoppers to a new financial contract by using information connected to a recent online transaction.
