President Obama Salutes As Coffins Carrying U.S. Soldiers Arrive on Home Soil

President Barack Obama saluted as the flag-draped coffins of American soldiers killed in Afghanistan arrived at Dover Air Base earlier today (October 29th).

The president flew to the base to personally give his condolences to family members meeting the bodies of their loved ones. October has been the deadliest month for the U.S. since the invasion began in 2001.

So far this month, at least 55 Americans have died in Afghanistan.
