Church of Scientology in France Convicted of Fraud

The French branch of the Church of Scientology says It will appeal a verdict from a court in Paris today.

The church was convicted of fraud, and fined more than $900,000. Four of six leaders of the group were convicted of organized fraud for pressuring members into paying large sums of money for questionable financial gain.

However, the court didn't grant the request of prosecutors that the church be banned.
