LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A 38-year-old Texas man has been sentenced to five years in prison on federal charges of making threatening telephone calls to women in Calcasieu (KAL'-kuh-shoo) Parish. Federal prosecutors say Timothy Thigpen was accused of threatening to rape and murder women during calls in which he identified himself as "Mike" out of Houston. U.S. District Judge Rebecca Doherty sentenced Thigpen to five years in federal prison and ordered that he remain under supervision for three years after his release.
