Nokona Athletic Goods Fire:One Year Later

It was one year ago today, fire destroyed an icon in Nocona. The Nokona Athletic Goods Company has been in business since the late 1920's. A major fire temporarily knocked them out of business last year. It took firefighters from 9 departments several days to have the fire under control. ATF agents say electrical problems were the cause. Damages were estimated at nearly $5 million. Several weeks later, the company set up operations at the former nocona boot factory. The company is currently rebuilding at the former site.
