There is one less contendor in the run for Texas Governor. Democratic Candidate Tom Schieffer is dropping out of the race and urged Houston Mayor Bill White to seek the nomination instead.

The former candidate says he's dropping out because he could not convince people that he could win. Meanwhile, Mayor White was running for the Senate seat that Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison was expected to vacate later this year.

He says he'll make a decision on whether to run for Governor by December 4th.
