Fugitive Captured in Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, TX -- The Wichita County Sheriff's Department captured a fugitive with a string of warrants and a lengthy criminal record. Deputies arrested him at Echo and Jacksboro Highway. They say he had cocaine and marijuana in his possession.

Keven Gene Barnes is wanted in Abilene in connection with an assault of a narcotics agent. The agent was injured while trying to arrest Barnes and another person.

Barnes will be held in Wichita County for several days until the Taylor County Sheriff Department can pick him up.

He faces several charges for this arrest, including assault on a public servant and possession of cocaine and marijuana.

He's also wanted for a parole violation in the state of Texas and assault on a parole officer.

In addition, he was wanted for possession of cocaine in Taylor County.
