Representative Mac Thornberry Has Competition

The race for the thirteenth congressional district is already heating up. Representative Mac Thornberry has held the office since 1995 and he's now being challenged by a fellow conservative.

Today (November 7) Michael Barrett, a Constitution Party Candidate of Nocona is in Wichita Falls making a campaign stop. Barrett addressed a small crowd of supporters and gave a rundown of his position on the issues.

Barrett says Thornberry is too willing to compromise with moderates. "We believe in a strong, but smaller government. We believe in fair and equitable tax system. I would urge people to go to the constitution party's web site. Basically, we believe in a hot-bed of issues like marriage being defined between one man and one woman. We are definitely anti-abortion."

The primaries will be held in March.
