Lawton Girl Recovering After Being Hit By Police Car
In Lawton, a 15-year-old girl is recovering after being hit by a police car while on her way to school. Deputy Police Chief James Apple said the teen was walking to Tomlinson Middle School yesterday morning when she tried to avoid a mud puddle and stepped into the path of the patrol car. Officer Keith May was behind the wheel of that car. Apple said the front driver's side corner of the patrol car hit the girl. Doctors treated her at the hospital and sent her home. Apple said the officer wasn't speeding and he is not suspected of any wrongdoing. Sunday, Nov 1 at 1:57 PM Juanetta Stone wrote ...How is it the officers fault? NO I do not have anybody on the police force in Lawton or Wichita Falls!!! Sunday, Nov 1 at 11:46 AM wow wrote ...If you step into the middle of the road without looking, things like this can happen.
