Driver Falls Asleep at the Wheel, Crashes into Guardrail

Police say falling asleep at the wheel could have caused an early morning accident.

Wichita Falls police believe the driver feel asleep near Windthorst Road and East Central Freeway this morning just after 2:30. The driver lost control, crashed into a guardrail and flipped his car into a median. Morning traffic was slowed, as the northbound lane of 287 was closed off in order to tow the vehicle off the road.

The roads are open now and the driver is expected to be okay, as he refused medical treatment.
