Jacksboro Dedicates New High School

Tools

(EYE ON EDUCATION) While the school year is well on it's way, the Jacksboro Independent School District is formally opening and dedicating it's new high school.

Jacksoboro ISD Superintendent Dennis Bennett said the school is twice the size of the old facility, and that it is the results of two bonds passed in 2006 and 2008 totaling $50 million. Bennett said he's proud of the new facility and what it could mean for the community.

Bennett said, "We're first of all proud that we're meeting the need of our children but we hope and we believe that this will be an attraction for people to look at Jacksboro as a community and a wonderful place to live. We think it's probably the best-kept secret in north Texas so we're very proud of that as well."
