Electra Volunteer Fire Department Receives A Big Check

A local volunteer fire department is receiving a big check. The Wichita County Courthouse will present the Electra VFD with more than eight-thousand dollars. The money is part of a settlement with some oil field service companies.

Those companies were found at fault for a fire fought by Electra and four other VFD's. All the departments are receiving awards, but Electra's check is the highest. Other checks being presented range from more than five-hundred dollars, to a little more than 7,200 dollars.
