Wichita County Prepares for Major Disaster Situation
Wichita County is reaching out to the city in an advanced preparation effort for any major disaster or emergency. The County Health District is asking for an interlocal agreement with the Burkburnett, City View, Electra and WIchita Falls Independent School Districts in order to secure the facilities and resources prior to a disaster or emergency. Schools are beneficial because citizens are familiar with their location. They're located close to residents and therefore make for good temporary triage areas or shelters. School districts also own or have access to many resources, such as bus or agriculture barns, fleets of buses and other vehicles for transportation. The health district assures citizens that the facilities would only be used if classes are cancelled or not scheduled. Most ViewedMore Good StuffAdvertisement
