CARE Kicks Off Just in Time for the Fourth of July

The Texas Department of Public Safety is getting ready for the fourth of July. Troopers say extra forces will be out the day before through the following Sunday. It's all part of "Operation Combined Accident Reduction Effort", or CARE.

During the holiday last year, troopers made nearly 800 DWI arrests. Aside from drunk drivers, troopers will be looking for other traffic violations, such as speeding and not wearing seat belts.
