Hazards like icy roads are a concern when temperatures are in winter territory. Wichita County wants to help residents stay on top of those emergency situations. Commissioners heard a presentation this morning about the Code Red Weather Alert System.

Through it, officials are able to send text and voice messages about weather events. The county hopes to get smaller communities involved. Wichita Falls and Burkburnett already have Code Red in place.
