More Freezing Temperatures Expected Tonight!

    Despite a Thursday filled with sunshine, cold, Northerly winds will dominate our temperatures through Friday and keep Texoma more than 10 degrees below normal.  Overnight, a hard freeze is likely as lows are expected to be in the low 20s and possibly even the upper teens North of the Red River.
    Sub-freezing temperatures will persist for at least 7-8 hours through the night with low to mid 20s present for at least 3-4 hours.  Of course, anytime temperatures are expected to be below freezing, one should always keep in mind the 4 P's: Plants, Pets, Pipes, and People.  Any one of these P's are extremely vulnerable when facing a freeze.
    Pets are recommended to be kept inside where it's warm, and plants should be insulated to avoid peak freezing hours.  Pipes will rely on the water inside them to avoid cracking, and experts say it's a good idea to let a water faucet drip slowly through the night to keep water in the pipe from freezing.  People should remain indoors if possible or dress warmly while going outside and take precaution to especially protect the face and hands with a hat and gloves since heat will easily use those areas to escape the body.
