(AP) -  A freeze warning was issued throughout Texas for Sunday morning with cold weather expected from parts of West Texas to the Central Texas area, according to the National Weather Service.

In North Texas, highs in the mid- to upper 60s were forecast with nighttime lows in the 40s around Dallas and Fort Worth. Skies were predicted to be sunny.

Skies in the Panhandle were expected to be sunny with highs in the upper 60s and overnight lows in the lower 30s.

In Central Texas, skies were forecast to be sunny with highs near 70 and overnight lows near 40 around Austin and San Antonio.

Along the Gulf Coast, highs in the 60s and overnight lows around 40 near Houston and 50 near Galveston were expected under sunny skies.

The forecast in West Texas called for sunny skies with highs in the mid-60s to lower 70s and overnight lows in the 30s.
