At a glance: Damage from Hurricane Ike

(AP) Thousands of homes along the Gulf Coast were damaged by Hurricane Ike when it made landfall Sept. 13.

Houston

More than 10,000 homes were damaged, forcing the city to spend about $100 million on cleanup.

Galveston Island

About 75 percent of homes were damaged or destroyed.

Jefferson County

More then 3,000 homes were damaged.

Chambers County

More than 1,000 homes are gone or unlivable. Damage is estimated at $450 million.
