Local YMCAs House HHH Riders

Abbie Carter

A couple of Wichita Falls YMCAs are transforming into hotels for a few days.

Each year,'The Inn at the Y' opens its doors for cyclists. Brandon Brown, CEO, says, "Basically what they do is bring a cot, sleeping bag, or air mattress, or anything like that. It's been a tradition going on for 25 years at the 'Y'--a lot of them are return visitors that stay with us. They bring a cot, put it on the floor, and we go from there." Riders can bunk for $12 a night and need to have their own cots, sleeping bags, or air mattresses.

Doors open at three tomorrow afternoon at the YMCA's downtown branch at 9th and Austin and at the Bill Bartley Branch at 5001 Bartley Drive just off of Southwest Parkway.
