Mosquitos Again Becoming a Problem

Dan Garcia

Wichita County is buzzing with mosquitoes.

They haven't been a problem this year until now--and it's the end of mosquito season! Susan Morris, Wichita Falls/Wichita County Public Health Department, says, "So now that we've had some rain, they (mosquitoes) have just blossomed. They have exploded, and we have mosquitoes everywhere," says Morris.

The Health Department is taking action against the insects. Crews sprayed this morning and will spray again tonight and tomorrow around the Huntington Lane and Wellington Road areas. They are also dumping mosquito-repellent briquettes in standing water to kill mosquito larvae.
