Guns on campus is usually illegal, but one Texoma school allows teachers to carry firearms.

Officials at the Harrold I.S.D. says its a safety issue. Harrold is located in far eastern Wilbarger County.

It's a small K-through-12 school in a community that doesn't even have a gas station. Officials say the school is located along US-287 making it a stop for drivers needing to use the restroom and there's a concern about hitchikers.

The school is also about 30 minutes away from law enforcement. These are some of the major reasons teachers and administrators can carry weapons. But---they must be licensed, and they must keep guns concealsed and on their person at all times.

"We have every effort to make the children here as safe as possible as can be in a public setting. obviously wer are not a prison, we are not going to have that security but we have the security necessary in policies in place."

Officials say they've put several security measures in place. They have a surveillence camera system, electric locks on doors and other lockdown devices...
