Electra is raising water rates by $15 for customers outside city limits.

City council made the final approval last night. Some Punkin Center residents were hoping they would hold off on the rate increase until their water problems are permanently fixed. We told you about the situation earlier this month. For about a year, tap water in Punkin Center has been brown or yellow.

The city believes a temporary solution to waterpipes has cleared the water, with a permanent plan in place for later this year.
