WICHITA FALLS, TX -- Wichita Falls police are on the look out for some out-of-state pickup trucks involved in an aggravated assault. It happened yesterday morning and the suspects are still on the loose.

Police said that just after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, on Blair House Lane in Wichita Falls, men in trucks drove up to a home and started a fight with the residents there, including 57-year-old Johnny Oaks. Oaks' daughter, Sarah Mullins said her father was hit by one of the suspects' trucks.

"My dad told them if you want to fight me. That's fine. They wouldn't fight him. So, they waited for him to get out of bed and they hit him with the truck," Mullins said.

Police wouldn't confirm that oaks was hit by the truck, but they did say he was assaulted.

"he's fine, he didn't go to the hospital. He got a little black eye, but he's fine. He is tough," said Mullins.

The vicitm's family point out a single person as a ringleader of the suspects, and they say he's connected to the family through some complicated ties.

Mullins said, "He was married into my family. Not actually my family -- it was my in-law's family. His wife left him, and he's mad at our whole family because she divorced him, and about a year later she married my dad's nephew."

Mullins said that during the incident, her mother came out of their trailer home and fired a gun at the suspects. Police said there haven't been any reports of injuries from those shots, but the gunfire did seem to cause the suspects to flee. That is when 21-year-old Booker Mullins saw what was happening and tried to block the suspects from leaving with his SUV. Investigators tell us that the suspects then hit his vehicle with their truck and left the scene. Sarah Mullins said the ringleader is violent and should be put away.

"it ain't just my father. If you would talk to the man and ask him to do a talk with you he would hit you or try to fight you," Mullins said.

Police are still looking for the suspects, but they aren't releasing any names. They're searching for two newer model black pickup trucks with Idaho tags, along with a red Dodge pickup with Texas tags. The suspects may be armed with handguns.

If you have any information, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 322-9888.
