Wichita Falls Police need Texoma's help solving a cold case. KAUZ is working with detectives to help find justice for homicide victims.

Tonight we go back 28 years. Sunday night, March 15, 1980 proved to be mysterious and deadly. That's the night officers found 26 year old Johnny Mac Nugent with multiple guns shot wounds.

The Blue Bird Inn was one of the popular hang out's on Flood street, and also the scene of this un-solved murder.

Police say 28 years ago, they were called to the bar to find a chaotic scene full of people and Johnny bleeding on the sidewalk.

Problem is none of them would talk to police.

"But hopefully now they're matured. Like this case is 28 years old so if you were 20, now your 48. So hopefully at 48 you can come forward and feel confident with information that would lead us to an arrest." said Sgt. William Henning.

Police say while being loaded in the ambulance Johnny told them, someone in a black El Dorado was responsible. Unfortunately, Johnny died at the hospital before police could ask him more. Leading police back to witnesses.

 No detail is too small and could be the missing link to solving this crime.
