  On July 1st, a new Commander at Sheppard Air Force Base was appointed.

80th Flying Training Wing Commander, Colonel David Petersen relinquished command to Colonel Kevin Schneider.

Colonel Schneider comes to Sheppard from the 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, where he was the Vice Commander.

 "This is where I started flying so it holds lots of special memories for me, so it's good to come back here and in some ways take what I've learned over the past two decades and try to teach." says Colonel Schneider.

Twenty years ago, Colonel Schneider was a student in the training program at Sheppard. He is coming back to our base with over 3,000 flight hours under his belt.

He also says he is looking forward to being here and working with the community.
