An Electrical Spark Heats Up

A fire rips through a Wichita Falls home, and several families are affected.

Around 8 o'clock this morning, a lawnmower operator hit a utility pole, knocking out power to 100130th Street. When the power was restored, it was discovered that an electrical spark caused a heater to erupt in flames. No one lives there, but the Area Foster Parents Association (A.F.P.A.) uses the house to help families caring for foster children. Richard Allen with A.F.P.A. says, "There's about five rooms that we keep all of our clothes for our foster parents in. They're all ruined." Foster parents would often go to the home to get clothes for the children they care for.

The association is now forced to look for a new location and a new clothing supply. Tonight at 10, we'll tell you what items are needed and how you can help.
