EDMOND, Okla. (AP) - A University of Central Oklahoma student has been indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of making a false report of a bomb at UCO. The indictment says 19-year-old Jason Ray Shandy of Tuttle made a 911 call on April 22nd and said he overheard three students of Middle Eastern descent discussing a plot to blow up UCO. There was no information immediately available on whether Shandy had an attorney. U.S. Attorney John Richter says Shandy is also charged with two counts of lying to the FBI during the investigation of his report. The indictment says Shandy told a friend he made up the story so he could get out of school. He faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted of all charges.
