MARBLE CITY, Okla. (AP) - An eastern Oklahoma school superintendent who is facing embezzlement charges is now resigning. Marble City Superintendent Larry Couch has been suspended since November when the state Board of Education revoked his teaching certificate. Couch is charged in Sequoyah County District Court with embezzling $100,000 from the school. State auditors believe Couch has taken just under $950,000 from the school by using a closed school organization to launder money to buy land and pay farming expenses.
