Ben is very excited to cover the always changing weather of the Texoma area. Growing up in Dallas and later attending the University of Oklahoma’s School of Meteorology, Ben knows the importance of severe weather coverage in this area. Ben loves to cover severe weather and for two years Ben was a storm chaser for KSBI-TV in Oklahoma City. After chasing for KSBI, he spent the next two springs storm chasing for research purposes. In fact, Ben spent the majority of his senior year at OU studying a supercell storm in which he saw 12 separate tornadoes over the span of three hours!! Ben's experience with severe weather is not limited to storm chasing, he interned at KXAS in Fort Worth for two summers and worked for The Oklahoman, the Oklahoma City newspaper, this past spring. While working for the Oklahoman, he covered the rare severe weather event in February of 2009 that included the Lone Grove, OK tornado. Ben received his degree in Meteorology with minors in Broadcast and Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma in May of 2009. In his free time, he is a huge sports fan of all sports (yes, even you hockey). Ben is a fan of the: Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, and Tiger Woods. He also loves playing golf and basketball. When not watching or playing sports he probably is catching a movie and you might run into him at the local movie theater. Most ViewedMore Good Stuff |
