"Wow, look at that wind!" These were the first words Matt used to describe the weather here in Texoma as he arrived after about 15 hours worth of driving time. Matt graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Meteorology and was even taught by Chip Maxham, our morning meteorologist, in one of his weather courses. His interest in weather started when he was 5 years old and is matched in close competition with his love for being in front of the camera.

    "Being able to just stand in front of someone and tell them just what's going to happen with regards to the weather is something I've done my whole life. Now I get the chance to share my knowledge with thousands of people and even help to save lives when severe weather threatens the area."

    Matt was formerly employed by WTVY in Dothan, Alabama, and as he heard that KAUZ was looking for a new weekend weathercaster, he jumped at the opportunity. Texas has seen a great number of severe weather events and Matt is looking forward to being able to study them.
