800,000 Pounds of Meat May Be Contaminated with Salmonella, Recalled

Story Updated: Aug 13, 2009

A California-based beef packing plant is recalling more than 800,000 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The ground beef recalled by Beef Packers, Incorporated was sent to Colorado, Arizona and Utah and sold in California.

The U.S.D.A. says the strain of Salmonella that may be in the meat is resistant to many commonly prescribed drugs which can increase the risk of hospitalization.

The FDA more money taken from the tax payers and wasted by government to no positive effect. Make the companies more responsible for things like this and do away with the FDA.
