MultimediaBuying a car is a big experience and expense for anyone. But when a young women, whose husband is in the military tried to buy a car, things didn't turn out as expected. Dan Garcia has more in this You Ask, We Investigate segment. Like most young adults Jennifer Galarza is computer savvy. So she went online to find her and her husband a new vehicle.... She found just what she wanted on crag's list...A popular online selling site... A man who said he was a soldier was trying to get rid of his mini-van.... Jennifer says he put up a good story. "...I have to sell it as soon as possible cause i'm getting deployed in ten days, so that's why i'm selling it for such a low price," said Galarza. After talking with the man several times and Jennifer checking out everything she could.... she decided to go with that deal. The seller even went so far as to tell Galarza the van would be shipped through e-Bay shipping. He also said he had an escrow agent to handle the money... Until she was satisfied with the vehicle. "...So I sent 'em the money, they emailed me back saying hey ... We got your payment. Uh -- we're going to start the shipping process in 24 hours. You should get your car in three to five days," they told her. Needless to say, that didn't happen. When Galarza started calling and asking questions. No one would return calls. That's when she called e-Bay. "...So they're like... 'um -- well if you didn't have a membership with us, you didn't buy a car from us. I was like I talked to agents like - you know, I was on the official e-Bay website. It was you guys. She's like, no mam, you've been scammed," said Jennifer. I contacted the secret service in dallas... They are in the preliminary stages of an investigation. As always, the better business bureau advises to know who you're doing business with. Galarza says her parents always told her... If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. She just wishes she'd of listened.
