It's happening again. An internet pfishing scam is draining Americans bank accounts.

But this time the scammers are using a local credit union trying to get your money. It looks innocent enough. An e-mail that is showing up in literally dozens and dozens of local accounts. It's for the texoma community credit union... But this e-mail is anything but innocent. In this case the credit union and its customers are victims. According to credit union officials, this one has been traced back to computer servers at the university of beijing.... In china. Detective chris gay is in the financial crimes division of the w.F.P.D. He says these criminals want one thing... Your bank information.

"They come through daily on financial institutions and businesses that are legitimate. But these are not issued or authorized to be issued by these financial institutions."

Detective gay says these sites are set up as ghost sites. "Once you've given it the information it has asked for and you send that information and click on it then it goes away."

Money can immediately be withdrawn from your account. Once it is withdrawn there is no hope to get it back. "It goes overseas and it's gone," says Gay.

Whether it's bank officials... the police department.... or the better business bureau. They all have one piece of advice for consumers when it comes to any e-mail asking for personal information. "Delete it. Delete it out, do not click on links," says Detective Gay.

Wayne Mansuer with Texoma Community Credit Union agrees. He says if you open the e-mail and click on the link, dangerous spy ware could be implanted on your hard drive to track keys and make it easy for scammers to get other critical information from your computer on other accounts.

In the mean time, if you've got a question, give me a call. The number is 687-U-ASK. The number again, 687-8275.

Here is an example of how they abuse their power. A female walking down the street not bothering a sole and known by them to be a drug user, they stop and search her for no reason, don't find anything but take her to jail so they can strip search her and still found nothing. If that is not harassment I don't know what is. It is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
