Children under the supervision of Texas Child Protective Services were just moved our of a filthy home by their mother only after they were evicted.

But they didn't clear out before an unusual request was made.

When Tina Tucker reclaimed her rent house over the weekend, this is what she found. A roach infested house, full of trash, walls and appliances covered in feces, and a stench that was unbelievable. Lee Tysinger is Tucker's maintenance man.

"Absolutely deplorable. Destroyed furniture... turned over, ripped apart, food, dirty diapers. It did not appear that any trash was cleaned in the year it was occupied," said Tysinger

Tysinger says what makes this situation even worse, is that the mother and her four children were apparently clients of Child Protective Services. And a call Friday to the landlord was the straw that broke the camel's back.

"From what I understand from the home owner is that she received a call from CPS in Wichita Falls asking her to extend the termination of the lease and let the lady stay here with her four children in the best interest of the children," said

What really disturbed everyone is that the case worker called on behalf of c.P.S. asking for the children to be left in those conditions. His question: Who's watching out for those poor kids?

I talked with Marleigh Meisner with the Texas Department of Family Protective Services. She is initiating an investigation to see if what Tina Tucker said is possible. Meisner promised to follow up by tomorrow to see where this deplorable situation goes. We will defiantly follow up on this story when we get some answers from the state.

In the mean time, if you've got a question you want me to investigate, give me a call at 687-U-ASK, that number again, 687-8275.

i do hope those kids are being taken care of, but whose gonna have to fix up and clean up that poor woman's house? Some people are just lazy and nasty.

This is to "One Who Has Been There" It is not CPS who is at fault. If they get a call they HAVE to investigate it. You may not of been in the wrong but there are many of those calls that help children out. Someone called in on you or CPS would not gotten involved. As convenient as it was for you, think of all the lives that have been saved or made better by a phone call. Give CPA a break and let them do their job. I commend them, they have a heart breaking job, not many of us could do it.

Come on people, open your eyes, where are the facts??I think this is just one way the news stations get business. How much that you see or read is the truth??? Before you judge, find out the facts and point the finger at the right person. But REMEMBER there are 3 more pointing back at you.. When was the last time you helped anyone out? Do you just turn your head and pretend not to see and say it's not my business, I don't want to get involved? Stop judging and start praying.. thats OUR JOB

"Easy to talk about what caseworkers should have done, whether they did too little or went too far. In fairness, though, maybe we should ask ourselves: Could I do that job better?Could I do it at all?" Quote from 'CPS caseworkers stare ugliness in its face more than we know.' An article from the Dallas Morning News dated 4/29/08. If you read it, one might gain some compassion for caseworkers.

I just want to know why this woman had't been turn in to CPS before now. I'm sure this did't just start. Someone must have known how those kids were living in that horrible situation.

I think case warrants a much deeper investigation. Family Services sounds as if though may be passing the buck. Remember it was CPS who called the homeowner and asked they kids be allowed to stay in this filthy house longer, so therefore CPS was involved with this family. CPS needs to get on the ball.

I would really like to know who can be trusted to look after and take care of those poor kids

How does C.P.S. allow kids to live in these conditions. Isn't it their job to protect the kids who cannot protect themselves. Heads needs to roll at CPS. Please follow-up on this story and demand to know who's watching after who. The kids deserve better, if not from the parents definately from CPS. These parents doNOT deserve kids and CPS needs to do their jobs.

This makes it really hard for Section 8. I hope this person is never allowed to rent another place. They have no regard for property or children. Was C.P.S. out to lunch?

This is why Homeowners have to request such a big deposit. Question for CPS..did you ever go out to house to check on kids??

CPS is a joke. Who's watching CPS watch the kids?

Tuesday, Apr 29 at 8:15 PM Patsy wrote ...

Unbelieveable!! Who's watching who? This is exactly why I got of the Rental Market. If people aren't taking care of their children, they probably are not going to take care of your property.

This is why I got out of the Rental market. This is the true meaning of "White Trash".

I think that more investigation should be done. It looks as if you would investigate a bit more before you air something. News people are looking for stories here. Funny how they will believe anything that is wrote to them. Did anyone ever hear anything back from CPS or talk to the mother that supposedly did this? Looks like you would get the facts. How come the mothers name was never released?

Monday, Apr 28 at 9:03 PM concerned wrote ...

cps is really lazy and hard to even get in touch with if you could get some help from them.

Where is part II of this story. I'm asking, you do what you said you would do - follow up.

Saturday, Apr 26 at 11:55 AM Curly wrote ...

Both CPS and APS (Adult Protective Services) are the same. If you think there is a problem, you best stay on TOP of CPR (or APS) if you expect any results. I'd like to hear what happens with the follow up!!

There is a difference between raising kids and taking care of kids. It's not right for any child to be raised in a roach infested environment. CPS is always trying to save too much money and doesn't get it right! Someone needs to be watching over CPS.

I had CPS called on me saying I was physically neglecting my son - he is disabled and I have given up any chance of a normal life for him. Everything I do is for him and in his best interest. Why when they are bothering people who care for their children when there are so many children suffering out there?

Friday, Apr 25 at 3:43 PM Leonard Henderson wrote ...

The answers to all the questions is- CPS is an Organized Crime Ring defrauding the Federal Funding Stream (Social Security) for BILLIONS of dollars a year. CPS cares about kids like fleas care about dogs. http://familyrights.us

CPS is taking kids now out of people's home that are not trashed, the kids are happy, healthy , have a roof over their heads, food in there bellies, and a hot bath every night and clean clothes every day... It is completely unfair to everyone that CPS screws up and now innocent children are suffering.
