We have new information on the problems facing people who bought vehicles from Brodie Mitsubishi. Titles haven't been registered, loan pay offs not completed along with other transactions that go along with buying a vehicle. But there is some good news for consumers who are affected.
Mark Meyer's problems began when he walked into the Brodie Mitsubshi dealership here in Wichita Falls. He traded a pick up truck... and took delivery on another vehicle.
That trade in was to be paid off by the dealer. And in the beginning it was. He's got a letter and copy of the check sent to the finance company. The trouble started when Meyer began getting calls from the finance company saying he needed to pay them off or else!
"i began getting calls, sometimes 15 or 20 times a day, I finally had to change my telephone number to get it to top," said Mark Meyer.
Meyer says the transaction apparently was flawed from the beginning. That's because on his contract with brodie and the new vehicle he was buying. The dealer put the wrong vehicle identification number on the contract. Meyer says he thinks that forced the used car deal to go bad, thus triggering his old finance company to send the money on the trade-in back to Brodie.
Ever since, the finance company has been after Meyer to pay off the deal. But Meyer says he hasn't had his old truck once he turned it in as a trade. Thursday, You Ask We Investigate learned that the Texas Department of Transportation's Austin Office has been investigating the dealer for many similar complaints.
"Their licenses have been voluntarily turned over and they are unable to transact business," says Tx-Dot Spokesperson Adele Lewis.
We also learned there are a number of state agencies pouring over Brodie's records. Right now, Tx-Dot, the State's Comptroller's Office, the Department of Licensing and Regulation and the Texas Department of Insurance are looking into various areas.

Some of the Texas Parks have asbestos covers over the picnic tables. When is Texas going to replace the asbestos? Some areas have been replaced but I would guess that people don't know about the asbestos above their heads. Thanks
