An east side man is battling city hall over some condemed homes next to his. Both are destroyed by fire and are falling apart creating safety hazzards.

Manuel Villagomez has lived in this neighborhood for about four years. From the day he moved in, he says the two homes adjacent to his property have been empty and falling apart.Villagomez says, "Ay munchos peligros..... There are many dangers. It's a situation where it smells bad. I have small children and I'm afraid they'll get out, something's going to happen. There's going to be an accident."

Villagomez says there's another danger from someone living in an old school bus two lots over. "This man lights fires here sometimes. The fire could spread to all this and I'm going to burn up with my kids and no one is willing to help," says Villagomez.

Villagomez says he has complained to the city, several times. The last time code compliance came out was last August after the floods. He says the code compliance officer took numerous photos of the front and back of both homes, and promised something would be done. But Villagomez says he's still waiting.

"pues, yo llame... I have called the city, he says, and talked with code enforcement and the city manager about this junk that's here. And they just tell me they will take care of it, they will fix it, they will clean it up, but they haven't done anything yet," said Villagomez.

After waiting patiently, he went back to the city late last week. He got another promise that something would happen but after waiting all this time, Villagomez is skeptical any progress will be made.
