"They know the chances they are taking and our troopers will be out there looking for them." Tony Fulton is a Trooper for the Texas Department of Public Safety. He says through the first of January don't get behind the wheel if you've been drinking. "It seems like this time of year we have more parties. More people are celebrating and it seems like they always involve alcohol in that." Trooper fulton says the D.P.S. hopes drivers will stop and think about the potential for trouble they are facing if they drink then drive.

That trouble includes includes stiff fines, the loss of a driver's license and possible jail time. It makes no difference if it is a first time violation. 

On New Year's Eve, local cab companies and towing companies will be providing free tows and taxi rides home. We'll give you more details on what you need to do to take advantage of the service as we get closer to New Year's Eve.
