Welcome to the 3rd annual “Run for the Son” event. This event has been created for two purposes:
 To provide a recreational experience celebrating the life we find in Jesus Christ.
 To provide awareness and financial support of organizations who serve various needs within our community.

After a great turnout of over 400 participants for our event in 2007, we hope that 2008 will again inspire you to reach personal, physical, spiritual and social goals as well as just have some fun. Because of the tremendous response and success of the event, this year we are adding a 10K race. We look forward to a great event for a great cause. THIS YEAR’S FOCUS…
The proceeds from this year’s race will go to support The Pregnancy Help Center in Wichita Falls. This organization’s mission is to meet the emotional, spiritual and social needs of women, men, and their families facing pregnancy and related issues through consultation, limited medical services, material provisions, education, and restoration of relationships. PHC serves all families but in particular those facing unplanned pregnancies. In so doing, they provide guidance to hundreds of women each year to assist them in making the best possible choices regarding the birth of their child.

Race times:
7:45 AM – Welcome
8:00 AM – 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
8:30 AM – 5K and 10K Runs

Course:
The new 10K run is a loop course that takes you along the city’s trail system, the wide streets of Country Club, the MSU campus and scenic Sikes Lake. The 5K run will be an out and back course that is fun and flat… great for establishing a personal best time! The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is an out and back course along beautiful Sikes Lake. The starting points for all events will be in the parking lot of Colonial Baptist Church. Official course maps will be included in participant’s bags or can be viewed at www.colonialonline.org.

Registration
All registrations received by May 10th will receive a short sleeve Dri Mesh shirt in their packet. Those received after May 10th will receive a shirt WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. The first 350 registrations received will also receive a free water bottle. Register early!!!

Entry fees: (age on race day)
Ages 13 and older, $20.00 if received on or before May 10th.
Ages 13 and older, $25.00 if received after May 10th.
Ages 12 and under, $15.00
Ages 5 and under, Free. (No T-shirt provided)

Packets
Participants Packets can be picked up Friday, May 16th from 2PM – 8PM, or Saturday, May 17th from 7AM - 8AM.

Awards
5k & 10K Runs - Awards to the top three male and the top three female finishers overall and in the following age groups: 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+. No duplication of awards! All children 12 and under will receive an award and a participant’s certificate.

Post Race Celebration
Join us immediately following the race in the west parking lot of Colonial Baptist Church in celebration of a great experience. There will be plenty of “goodies” for the participants, “door prizes”, music and refreshments.

Directions
Colonial Baptist Church is located on 4300 Maplewood Ave. in Wichita Falls, TX. Located just south of Sikes Senter Mall at the intersection of Elliott and Maplewood. Parking for the race is in the south and west parking lots of Colonial Baptist Church.
