IT'S HOT!

Okay so it's finally summer! Read a story on the AP wire today about how so far the first seven months in the state of Texas have been the wettest on record. Amazing. Every night it seems we read stories about typhoons or earthquakes all over the world. There's flooding here, wildfires there. What is going on? We live in a delicate world that responds to the slightest of changes. We have all heard about global warming and its effects. Is this it? I am no scientist but man, this is some serious stuff. I am one who believes we don't have a lot of control over what mother nature does. The planet Earth has been around a whole lot longer than man has. If it's running a natural cycle then fine. If we can all do our part to help it ease through that cycle then GREAT! It makes no difference which side of the fence you are on with this issue there is no denying that our planet is going through some changes. I am all for not driving as much or easing our reliance on fossil fuels. Whatever it takes. I don't want to be a fossil that is dug up in a million years with somebody wondering, "what happened to this guy?". I want my kids grand kids to know that man saw a change and adapted to it to keep anything like what may have happened to the dinosaurs millions of  years ago.

Now that you have read that. I miss sports! Did I ever have to think about that while watching the Rangers lose again? NO! I still love what I am doing on the news desk and learn more about how the news stuff works every single day. Newschannel Six is going through a very exciting time of change and I am glad to be a part of it. With that comes some good and bad but I am hoping for more good than bad!

Thanks for watching. I know you have a choice for news and am glad you picked us!
